If you are performing a lash lift on someone with thick lashes, you may find that you need more adhesive than you would for someone with thinner lashes. Here are a four reasons why:

1. Thick lashes can be heavier than thin lashes.

When you add a perming solution to thick lashes, they may weigh down the natural lashes more than thin lashes would. This means that you need a strong adhesive to hold the lashes in place during the lifting process.

2. Thick lashes can be more resistant to curling.

Because thick lashes are stronger and more resistant to bending, they may not hold the curl as well as thinner lashes. Using a stronger adhesive can help to keep the lashes in place and ensure that they hold the curl once the perming solution is applied.

3. More adhesive can help to prevent lash slippage.

When you are performing a lash lift, it is important to make sure that the lashes stay in place throughout the entire process. This is especially true for people with thick lashes, which can be more prone to slipping or sliding during the treatment. Using a generous amount of adhesive can help to prevent this from happening.

Wrapture lash educator, @caitlyn.totalwrapture , has an additional pro tip:

“You can also use paper tape or fabric tape after applying the perm solution to keep thick lashes down.”

4. Thick lashes may require more precision.

When you are working with thick lashes, you may need to be more precise in your application of the adhesive. Using a smaller amount of adhesive may not be enough to hold the lashes in place, so you may need to use more in order to get the desired effect.

So what’s the takeaway?

If you are performing a lash lift on someone with thick lashes, it is important to be mindful of the amount of adhesive that you use. Using too little can result in a less-than-perfect lift, while using too much can make it difficult to separate the lashes once the treatment is complete.

If the lashes are coming off the pad, you need more adhesive. If the lashes are staying on the pad, there is no need to add more.

By using just the right amount of adhesive, you can achieve a beautiful, natural-looking lift that your client will love!

Not a Lash Technician yet?

Becoming a lash technician can be a great way to start a lucrative side business or boost your current beauty career. Here are a two reasons why:

  • Lash extensions are in high demand: The popularity of lash extensions has been steadily increasing over the past few years, and there is no sign of it slowing down. This also means that there is a high demand for skilled lash technicians who can provide quality services. Lash Lifts offer a great alternative to clients who are not ready to commit to extensions yet.
  • High profit margins: Lash extensions have a high profit margin, which means that you can make a significant amount of money per appointment. This is especially true as you grow in experience and use less and less time per appointment. As fills or new lash lifts are necessary every 2-3 weeks, you can build a loyal clientele who routinely rebook for fills.
