Threading: Face and Brows

Course Description
Learn the traditional skill of fast and natural hair removal. Threading is a service that has increased in popularity in Canada as a gentle and wax-free method that is suitable for all skin types. Offer your clients a natural hair removal experience!
What is threading?
Threading is a hair removal technique that uses twisted thread to pluck hair at the follicle level. By rolling the thread over areas of unwanted hair, hair is removed in rows, providing a precise, clean, and wax-free experience.
It is a gentle method that is suitable for all skin types, making it a popular choice for those with sensitive skin or who prefer a natural experience for smooth, hair-free skin. Threading is also excellent for precise brow shaping.
How long do threading results last?
Threading removes hair from the root, causing regrowth to be slower than with other hair removal methods such as shaving or depilatory creams.
Depending on factors such as each individual’s unique hair growth rate, hair thickness, and skin type, your clients can expect to be hair-free for two to four weeks after a threading service. Consistent threading over time leads to thinner and sparser hair regrowth.
Course Content
This course covers multiple threading techniques, allowing you to choose the method that suits your preference. Learn how to properly stretch each area of the skin, loop thread, and work with different face shapes from multiple angles and using varied patterns.
Expert threading educator guidance and hands-on practice will allow you to confidently provide a high-quality threading service to your clients, leaving them with smooth, hair-free skin.
Perfecting the Art of Threading
Threading is an excellent alternative for clients looking for a temporary form of hair removal that does not require wax. You will learn the art of precision that you will continue to perfect with experience after graduating from this course.
Continued practice and dedication is the best way to achieve experience-based proficiency. We encourage you to continuously perform threading to build your experience and master the areas that require precise lines, such as brows.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior threading experience to take this course?
No prior threading experience is required. To offer this service professionally in Manitoba, you must be a certified esthetician or skin care technician. This course is designed to teach threading from the ground up, with hands-on guidance to help you build confidence and precision.
What areas of the face will I learn to thread?
You will learn how to thread brows, upper lip, chin, cheeks, and sides of the face. Special focus is placed on brow shaping and symmetry for all face shapes.
Is threading suitable for all clients?
Yes! Threading is gentle, wax-free, and ideal for all skin types—including sensitive or acne-prone skin. It’s also a great option for clients using topical retinoids or other exfoliants that make waxing uncomfortable.
How long does the course take to complete?
The threading course is delivered over two in-person days. You’ll receive both theory and practical training during this time, including hands-on practice with models.
However, like many detail-focused skills, threading requires consistent practice to build speed and precision. After certification, we recommend continuing to refine your technique so you can perform the service with confidence and control.
Is a kit included with the course?
Yes, the course includes a threading kit and manual so you can continue practising after class and offer services right away upon certification.
Will I need to bring a model?
Yes. You are required to complete model services to be eligible for certification. Model guidelines and timing will be provided once you’re enrolled.
What kind of certificate will I receive?
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Wrapture Beauty Academy Certificate in Threading.
Can I offer threading services immediately after the course?
Yes! Once you’re certified, you can begin offering threading services professionally, provided you meet your local regulations. In Manitoba, you must be a certified esthetician or skin technician to offer this service professionally.
However, like any precision-based skill, threading takes regular practice to develop both speed and accuracy. After earning your certification, we encourage you to keep refining your technique to perform each service with confidence and ease.
How is threading different from waxing or sugaring?
Threading removes hair using a cotton thread, without the use of heat or chemicals. It is more precise than waxing, especially for shaping brows, and tends to be better tolerated by those with sensitive skin.
